Propolis tincture is made from propolis – a resinous substance bees collect from tree buds and bark. They use it inside the hive as a natural coating, and it has been appreciated for centuries as one of the classic bee products.
The tincture is produced by carefully extracting raw propolis in alcohol, resulting in a concentrated liquid with a distinct, aromatic flavour. It can be taken directly, diluted in water, or added to warm tea.
